18 Days Turkey and Georgia Armenia tour
Day 1 - lstanbul
After arrival Istanbul Ataturk Airport , Our representative will pick you up from airport with your name holded and transfer to hotel , free time and Overnight in Istanbul
Day 2- Istanbul Walking Tour ( B –L )
After breakfast we will start a full day walking tour of old city in historical peninsula beginning with Hagia Sophia , Blue Mosque , Topkapı Palace , Hippodrome and Grand Bazaar. After tour back to hotel and overnight in Istanbul.
Day 3- Istanbul to Cappadocia ( B-L) 1 hour fly
Early morning at 6:00 am We will pick you up and transfer to airport for a flight to Kayseri, after arrival in Kayseri transfer to hotel, depart for a full day , guided tour of Northern Cappadocia , we will visit the Goreme Open Air Museum , Devrent Valley , Avanos , Pasabag , Cavusin village , Urgup's Fairy Chimneys . End of the tour transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 4- Cappadocia ( B –L )
OPTIONAL TOUR : Hot air balloon ride
Breakfast at hotel. Then we will pick up from the hotel at about 9:30 am and a full day guided tour of Southern Cappadocia will start with Piegon valley, Underground city of Kaymakli. Rose Valley ,Uchisar Castle .Esentepe Panorama. After tour transfer to bus station and take a night bus to Pamukkale ( 10 hour bus )
Day 5 -Pamukkale Tour ( B- L )
After breakfast , We will pick you up for a full day guided tour of Pamukkale and Hierapolis . Pamukkale which means cotton castle . We will also visit the ancient Roman Health Spa of Hierapolis , made most famous for it's thermal springs , theatre , Agora and the Necropolis . End of the tour drive to Kusadasi and Overnight in Kusadasi
Day 6 - Kusadasi- Ephesus Tour ( B- L )
After breakfast at the hotel depart for full day guided tour of Ephesus , visit great ruins of Ephesus ancient city , Celcius library , Temple of Artemis and House of Virgin Mary . At the end of the tour back to airport and flight to Van.( 2 hour fly ) Overnight in Van.
Day 7- Van ( B- D )
We will proceed to Akdamar Island where we visit the beautifully restored 10th C Armenian Church of the Holy Cross, or Sourp Khach, built as a part of a palace and religious complex between 915 and 921 AD..Overnight in Van.
Day 8- Van - Hosap ( B- D )
After breakfast at hotel we drive from Van tol south along one of the legs of the Silk Road (Ipek Yol) in Turkey. We visit Hosap Castle. The main castle structure of Hosap was built straddling the Silk Road and served as both a means of protecting the road and as a point for charging tolls on travellers. From Hosap we return to Van for lunch, before ending the day with a visit to the Citadel of Van at dazzling sunset. Overnight in Van.
Day 9- Dogubeyazit - Kars ( B- D )
After breakfast, we depart for Dogubeyazit via Muradiye and the pretty Bendimaahi Falls. On our approach to Dogubeyazit we will get our first view of Ararat. Mt. Ararat is known in Turkish as "the Mountain of Pain" and in Kurdish as the "Mountain of Fire". Armenians know it is as Masis. The name Ararat derives from the Bible (Jeremiah 51:27) and is a transliteration of "Urartu" the name foreigners gave to the inhabitants of this region in Biblical times. From Dogubeyazit we continue north around Mt. Ararat, to Kars. Overnight in Kars.
Day 10 - Kars - Ani ( B- D )
After breakfast we will drive from Kars to Ani to spend the morning at the former capital of the great medieval Bagratid Armenian kingdo, impressive fortified walls stil encircle the ruins of numerous churche.Overnight in Kars.
Day 11 -Gyumri- Georgia ( B- D )
Today we leave Kars and cross over into Georgia and on into Armenia to the city of Gyumri. Gyumri is located in the north-western part of Armenia, in the middle of the Shirak valley and approximately 126 km from Yerevan.Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 12 - From Gyumri to Echmiadzin ( B- D )
Located 30 minutes outside of the city of Yerevan and considered one of the holiest cities in Armenia. This former capital is now home to the Supreme Catholics of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church. On the way back to Yerevan we will visit ruins of Zvartnots Temple which is included in UNESCO's list of World Heritage sites.Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 13 - Yerevan ( B- D )
From Yerevan we will drive to Khor Virap Monastery a place of pilgrimage for Armenians all over the world. Khor Virap lies in the shadow of Mount Ararat on the opposite side of the mountain from Dogubeyazit; at this point you will have virtually circumnavigated the mountain of Noah. From Khor Virap the view of Mt Ararat is one of the iconic images of Armenia. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 14 - Yerevan - Lake Sevan - Tbilisi ( B- D )
We visit Garni Temple, a 1st century building from the Roman period and in the Roman style, probably built to honour the Emperor Nero. Soon after Armenia adopted Christianity, the temple became the summer residence of Armenian royalty. Next stop is Geghard cave Monastery and then we continue to Lake Sevan. This part of the tour connects two of the Eurasian region's highest lakes; Lake Van in Eastern Turkey (1550m) and Lake Sevan in Eastern Armenia (1900m). Transfer to Tbilisi, Georgia.
Day 15 - Mtskheta ( B- D )
We start our Georgian tour with a visit to Mtskheta. Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia is situated 20km from Tbilisi. The town has a history that goes back to the 2nd millennium B.C. Mtskheta was the capital of the Georgian Kingdom of Iberia during the period between 500BC - 500AD and it was here that, in the year 330, Georgians accepted the Christian faith after the mission of St. Nino of Cappadocia. Overnight inTblisi.
Day 16- Tbilisi ( B- D )
We start the city tour of Tbilisi with visits to the Old Town: Metekhi Temple (12th c.), the Abanotubani bath houses whose thermal healing sulphur baths have attracted poets, writers, musicians, kings down through the centuries; from Narikala - the main fortress of Tbilisi (4th c.), there are excellent views over the city and the river Mtkvari (Kura).
Day 17- Fly for Istanbul ( B )
After breakfast transfer to airport to catch flight to lstanbul.Upon arrival transfer to hotel and afternoon we have half day Bosphorus Cruise tour and visit Spice Bazaar.Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 18- Istanbul ( B )
After breakfast at hotel our tours concludes. We say good bye to our new friends before being transferred to the international airport.
